OK, here they are, the plans to build your own TBI pieces for the Vmax or use
them as a
guide to building your own set for a different bike. My system will work on most
types of
CV carbureted motorcycles. You just have to adjust the injector housing,
drawing #4 to fit
your particular CV carbs. You will also have to make the replacement cover plate,
drawing
#2 fit your carburetor. This is the easiest way to install fuel injection and
have fun doing it.
Since you will be working with aluminum it will be easy for you to build and
polish your
finished product and have a great sense of accomplishment. The injectors that
fit these housings
are 19lb hour. Motorcraft PN# is E5TE-A3B (I've found them rebuilt for $22.95).
NOTE: These plans are based on the Yamaha V-max CV
carburetor but can be adjusted to
fit many other CV carbureted motorcycles. The fuel injectors and fuel rail
protrude about 1.625"
above the cover as shown in the picture below so make sure you have clearance
between any
frames or obstacles before you decide to order plans.
I give you suggestions on how to build your kit and detailed drawings. I
actually send you
real drawings. It comes with 3 working drawings and 1 template drawing which
enables you
to drill and cut out your carburetor covers quickly and easily using a drill and
band saw.
You can purchase the complete V-max kit with plans, o-rings and stainless hardware
or
just
the plans separately. I've already done all the homework and leg work for you with the complete
kit for Vmax only. If you build a up a set of housings for another CV carb you
have to hunt
them down.

As you can see in the picture below the injector and fuel rail
sticks out about 1.625" above the cover.
Make sure you check this before building your kit as you may hate yourself in
the morning. Believe me,
I know about this first hand, I've built a lot of prototype parts and
missed things by a fraction of an inch.
And every time it happens, I hear that little voice in my head saying measure
twice and cut once.
Darn!! I hate that saying!!!I'm beginning to hate that guy in my head too. But
unfortunately he is so true.
Words of wisdom from Jack in the shop.
